Connect a coding agent

Staso records Claude Code and Codex sessions through local hooks. You do not need to change the code these agents work on.

What you need

  • Python 3.11 or newer and pip install staso.
  • A workspace API key with traces:write. Guard checks also require guard:evaluate.
  • A real agent session after setup. Installing hooks alone does not create a trace.

Start with Staso CLI setup, then follow the guide for your agent. To keep an existing installation current, see Update Staso.
